MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
Fascia is the body’s connective tissue matrix. It is a continuous web that wraps around and weaves through every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, and cell. It gives shape, structure, and cohesion to the body. It also holds memory.
Stress, injury, surgery, trauma, repetitive movement, and emotional overwhelm can all imprint into the fascia. Over time, these imprints may create restriction and tension that the body adapts around, often without us realizing. When this internal scaffolding becomes stuck or dense, it can affect everything: the way we move, breathe, feel, and relate to ourselves.
Myofascial Release is a hands-on therapy that works directly with this connective tissue system.
Unlike massage, no oil is used. This allows for direct contact with the fascial layers, inviting slow, sustained, and intuitive engagement. The work is subtle, but deep. It’s not about forcing change, but about creating the space where change can happen.
Sessions often begin with visual assessment of bony landmarks, especially around the pelvis, to observe how the body is holding structure, and how fascial pulls might be influencing posture, breath, or discomfort. From there, we follow the body’s cues: the places that feel dense or resistant. With time and presence, those areas begin to soften, unwind, and reorganize.
In addition to physical release, there is a deep emotional component in this work. Myofascial Release can allow the body to process recent stress, as well as deep seated trauma stored within the tissues. Generational patterns stored in the nervous system can also be accessed. Through this work, we can allow the body to release the charge from experiences that no longer serve us.
Because fascia connects every part of you, this work has the potential to support many layers of healing:
• Chronic or mysterious pain
• Nervous system dysregulation
• Trauma held in the body
• Pelvic or digestive imbalances
• Postural misalignment
• Emotional release and integration
• A sense of being “stuck” or out of sync with your body
Myofascial Release can be a session of its own or woven into a longer treatment. Whether you come in with a specific issue or simply a sense that something needs to shift, this work will meet you where you are and offer space for what’s ready to move.
